I’m always happy to take advantage of an opportunity to collaborate. Jesse from Glass & Marker called me in to do some editing on one of their projects for Yahoo!. They had interviewed and followed four different interns and ended up with a ton of footage. Yahoo! wanted a video to promote their internship program.
The approach was to keep it from feeling and sounding like a typical corporate video with talking heads. We wanted a more “lifestyle” approach, so that potential candidates can get a sense of what it was like to experience life as an intern at Yahoo. To achieve this goal, we purposefully did not show any talking heads and left it at hearing their voice coupled with the sweet “b-roll” footage shot by Jesse and Curtis. We also avoided any mention of “Yahoo” until the very end. We ended up with a very strong lifestyle piece that gives the viewer a strong sense of life as a Yahoo intern from four different perspectives!
